Global demand for cocoa is rising, and in Tanzania, its cultivation involves over 100,000 people — farmers and their families — who rely on its harvest for more than 60% of their agricultural income.
However, intensive cocoa farming threatens forests, biodiversity, and the climate.
That’s why we develop agroforestry systems, where cocoa grows alongside fruit trees and forest species, to create economic opportunities while preserving the environment and protecting biodiversity.
